Soar Academy Instructor: 

Every member of our team is vital to the process of helping a child get better and supporting the caregivers along the way. Great Heights requires Soar Academy Instructors who understand that quality, professionalism, and compassion are of utmost importance. A Great Heights Soar Academy Instructor should have dependable work ethic, demonstrate passion for helping students, and a growth mindset. 

The position is hourly, 15 hours weekly. 

Bi-lingual is a plus.

Soar Academy Instructor position prefers a bachelor’s degree in education or psychology, or a related field. Great Heights provides extensive training on curriculum and educational technologies utilized with this program.

Soar Academy Instructors will reflect and promote the values and missions of Great Heights when carrying out all workplace responsibilities. The primary role for the Soar Academy Instructors will be to implement after-school programming for Title 1 students in Hawaii.

This includes:

  • Conduct student assessment for academic placement in Soar Academy program

  • Prepare materials and teaching plans in alignment with the Soar Academy approaches

  • Deliver instruction in small group (6:1) and individualized instruction

  • Meet regularly with the Site Directors on aspects of student’s learning plans, progress, and any additional socio-needs for support; collaborate with other Soar Academy Instructors on strategies for individual students

  • Maintain student information and progress reports

  • Manage and update student files 

  • Actively works to promote communication with each student’s Caregiver. 

  • Assist with caregiver support and training activities for Title 1 families
